Cree Indian Medicine Man Died Here


Albert Whitehead Died Tuesday; 85 Years of Age


One of the few remaining Indian medicine men in the Peace River country, Albert Whitehead, passed away in Peace River Municipal Hospital March 21, after having been a patient for two days.


Born in the Peace River country 85 years ago Mr. Whitehead was a full blooded Cree Indian and for many years fulfilled his duties as medicine man for members of his tribe throughout the district.


During recent years he resided in the Harmon Valley district along with several sons and daughters.


The body was take to Harmon Valley Thursday for internment in the cemetery at that point.
